Horse Show | Events | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

As I mentioned in a previous blog, I'm playing catch up on my session blogs. This session is a first for me and it was in April. I have been to a steeple chase, I've ridden horses, and I've worked on a ranch. But I've never seen a horse show like this before. It was a wonderful experience that my friend, Ramona, shared with me and wanted me to photograph.

I had no clue what to expect, but she and her horses are gorgeous and made my job easy. She even filled me in on what to expect and how she and the horses were being judged. And the fact that I needed to catch the horse's feet just right — three on the ground and one in the air. It's harder than you think, but I just had the camera on burst and went for it.

It was a fun time and my son even got to sit on a horse. Ramona even allowed him to compete in the junior category, but he wasn't having it. Sitting on the horse was one thing, but walking with one ... no way. Hm, maybe next time.

Enjoy!

Ramona and her two horses were blue ribbon winners all day. She also got second in one event as well.

Western Category. Ramona looked so spiffy!

Daddy and Dokken started out slow by petting the horses, then Ramona was able to get him on the horse. It was awesome to see him conquer his fear like that. He's a cutie pie, a sissy, and my baby boy. I love him! LOL
