Deployed Love Part 2 | Family | Wade, NC Photographer

If you didn't catch Part 1 of these sessions, you should check it out HERE.

I got the opportunity to photograph families of deployed loved ones a few weeks ago and had a blast. (Deployed Love) Each family had such a great vibe and story behind why they needed these images to send to there hero overseas.

Some started shy, because he wanted daddy here. He wanted him in the photos with mommy and him. I fully understand buddy, I truly do. But we had fun right? Looking at HUGE leaves, smiling nice "just like daddy." We loved up on mommy - she liked that huh? ;)

We jumped for joy and kept saying - "gramma will enjoy these images too!"

And there were other reasons why they had these done and why they chose me. Losing a loved one that had the same style of camera as I, because she too loved photography. Cancer took her away, and even though she was the only one that has taking the kids' portraits, Momma took a shot on me. She even said I resembled her loved one. <3 I hope I did her proud momma!

Thank you families for hanging out with me and thank you Deployed Love - Fort Bragg for allowing me the opportunity to participate in this awesome event.

Deployed Love Fort Bragg | Family Photographer | Wade, NC Photographer

This year,  I was honored to have the opportunity to participate in Deployed Love - an organization that provides holiday images to families with service members deployed during the holidays.

I was late to the game since I had just moved back into Fayetteville, but I shot the Fort Bragg organizer an email and asked. She replied back quickly and basically said, "If you can get this paperwork filled out in the next 5 minutes, YES!"

And so I did!

As the event date got closer, I got nervous. I was going to have 10 families in the span of 20 (ish) minutes slots from 9am - 3pm with an hour lunch in between. Not to mention the heavy work load on the day OF the event - but the images needed to be edited and delivered within a 2 week period.

Not that bad, considering that's my normal editing timeframe, but I don't normally have that many families in one day  ... so I was starting to freak. Not to mention the fact that I like to be in control and not knowing all the that went into the sessions ... made me nervous. I was told where to be and when - everything else was up to me!

I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of families! Some requested me, some were assigned me - but all were so awesome. And better yet, all were genuinely appreciative of my volunteering my services - to everyone who volunteered. I think they said we had 95 families show up on November 2! The photographers out there rocked it and I couldn't be more proud of our little photographer community.

I sure hope the families love their images and I REALLY hope that their loved ones overseas dig each and every image that is sent to them. Group, children, fur babies, and of course their wives! <3

Thank you for allowing me to photograph you and your families! And thank you to Deployed Love - Fort Bragg for allowing me to jump in on such an awesome opportunity.

These are only 5 of the 10 families I photographed. The next 5 will be in my next blog!

It's November! | Family | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

Guys, we've hit November. Where the heck did October go?! I swear it was like here and then gone - like in 3 days. 'Cause that's all I remember! LOL

But, November is here, the days are shorter and everyone is FINALLY wearing sweaters for the cold weather. NC kinda got the news late that it was Fall. Halloween we were sweating our butts off, but then November 1st came and BAM!! Almost freezing. LOL

November also means that you're running out of time for portrait updates for your annual holiday card send out with the three page newsletter. Wait, do people still do that? I guess with today's technology the three page letter has just turned to a photo card since we all know what you had for breakfast just this morning ... amiright? ;)

I'm so happy to be photographing families this year that I haven't seen in YEARS. 1) Because I've been gone for three years and 2) Because taking portraits has become the least of our worries.

Why?

I guess because as the kids get older, we get busy in their lives - sports, hobbies, school, LIFE. I mean, I get it. BELIEVE YOU ME! I get it. LOL

I can always rely on the holidays though. It's when mom or dad looks at the wall and says "Well, heck - the last photo we have of all of us the littlest is a newborn!" Okay, maybe not THAT long ago but I mean - it's been years.

So let's get these last few weeks ramped up and update those portraits! I'd love to be your photographer - plus, we have TONS of fun!
