I mean, come on?! How gorgeous is this girl?!

And her bestie???? Super talented! Loved when she pulled out her guitar and began playing and singing softly. <3 <3 <3

Simply stunning these two!!

A Marine's Welcome | Military Homecoming | Camp Lejune, NC Photographer

As I always say, when speaking of military homecomings, each one has a different and unique story to tell. And that's why I'm there. To tell it not only in pictures but to explain to y'all the emotions that each person goes through when they're awaiting the arrival of their heroes.

This was my first Marine homecoming. I headed to Camp Lejune, NC to capture this moment for an adorable couple that couldn't wait to see each other. Not only did I speak with the girlfriend before the homecoming, the Marine himself made sure everything was in order since he too wanted this special moment caught on camera.

Everything started out well. Good communication, I was there early, she showed up just before the first busses arrived and the family members made it as the Marines were walking off the bus. Close calls, but everyone was where they needed to me ... except the Marine. The busses emptied one by one ... but no sign of her Marine.

His brothers and nephews tried to find his bag in the sea of tan backpacks.

His momma searched the crowd of happy family members reunited with their Marines ... but still no sign of THIER Marine. Then a huge crowd of Marines came out of the ammo room, they searched and searched. But still no familiar faces. Lemme tell you, they had their hopes raised THREE times, holding up signs, smiling into the crowd, and THREE times they were once again waiting for their hero.

Then finally, a big semi pulled out of the parking lot revealing a small formation. He HAD to be in there right? Girlfriend wasn't so sure, but momma had a feeling. She was right there when they were released and got his first hug and kiss. <3 She had her son home. Safe and Sound.

Finally after what seemed like forever, girlfriend and Marine embraced in the tightest most loving hug. You could feel the stress and worry just melt away at that very moment.

Dad got to welcome his son home with laughter and a bear hug.

Then came sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces ... the whole family!

But best of all, she had her love home at last.

Oh and get this! I am now doing video for an additional "add on" price if you also want to catch live action the second you guys see each other! Homecomings are $200 but for just $65 more, you'll get a short video of the whole experience! :) Don't forget to inquire about the video when you book!

Professional as it Comes | Professional Headshot | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

I have been getting a lot of requests for head shots lately. A lot from military members who are looking to go into the civilian workforce. I was never one for head shots, but the fact that I get to put my own twist on the "lifestyle headshot ..." I freaking love it! I mean, I'd hire her, wouldn't you?! ;)

Holy Communion | Event | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

When a friend contacted me about photographing her eldest daughter's first communion, I was not only honored, but I was so incredibly proud of this young lady! I've known her since she was TINY and now she was making this big step in her life. I KNEW I had to make these images speak.

Plus, her church is one of the oldest churches in Fayetteville, St. Michael the Archangel Maronite Catholic Church! It's so quaint and gorgeous, I was so excited to have the privilege to photograph this event.

Not only did my friend's daughter make her first communion, but so did another family friend of my clients. I was able to capture these beautiful girls taking in the body of Christ for the first time. I sat in the pew like their proud mommas. What a incredible moment.

Before the ceremony, we had storm clouds above us. The wind was blowing and it started to sprinkle just a tad. But we quickly got their outdoor images and then after the hour and half ceremony ... the rain came. LOL it was perfect timing.

Beach Beauty | Senior | Apex, N.C. Photographer

Lemme tell ya ... as a photographer who gets together with other photographers to shoot ... sometimes ... just SOMETIMES, you just aren't in the mood to shoot. It has nothing to do with the client/model, nothing to do with the concept, the location or anything like that. Just sometimes, because this IS a job, you just don't want to shoot. And that's how I went into this shoot. It was a long drive to the location, my little was a tad cranky, and frankly, I was a tad cranky.

BUT ... that instantly melted away once I met our client and the location and the fact that my little could splash in the water while I shot ... man, I couldn't have asked for a better shoot! Isn't she just gorgeous?!

This tree is amazing with all the roots above the sand ... it took a second to figure out what I wanted her to do in the roots, but once we found a pose ... we got it and it was awesome!

Quick change of clothing and she totally transformed from adorable lake pixie to a hot and strong willed hippie. I mean, come on?! Look at the light. Look at her. I mean, gorgeous.

The below pic is an "in-between shot." At least that's what I call them. She was talking with another photographer and I snapped this as she listened to him speak. <3 Love it.

The next three shots below, I changed up my composition. I love when other photographers "break the rules." I'm not normally a rule-breaker, but I'm so glad I challenged myself in these shots. Definitely my favs from the shoot!

Sun was getting pretty high by the end of the shoot and our shade was quickly disappearing. These next shots are black and white because I over-blew the exposure ... but as BW ... they're gorgeous! I love them! I'm glad I was able to "save" them by desaturating them. It would have been a shame to lose these images.
