Celebrating Life | Concept | El Paso, TX Photographer

When I got the call asking about a 30 year cake smash, I was all aboard! How awesome and fun was this idea?! It's all hers too! All I did was bring the cake stand! She is surrounded by all her favorite things and what about popping the champagne cork?!

Then she asks about her mother's birthday shindig too .... um,  of course!! Look at this beautiful and stylish momma!

What's in a number when it comes to age right?!

I had such a blast working with these beautiful, strong and fabulous women. The light was perfect, the setting gorgeous and the mother daughter bond shone through it all. Thank you ladies for choosing me as your photographer to capture this moment for y'all!

I'm telling you, I was giggling the whole time. We had a blast.

Desert Girls | Model | El Paso, TX Photographer

Okay folks, lemme tell y'all something. These girls. I mean, THESE girls are super awesome, gorgeous, fun, and freaking adorable!

I have been watching them grow up in front of my lens since they were babies. I'm serious. The eldest is just about the same age as my eldest and their dad used to be my boss and mentor when it came to photography (still is BTW). He is also a great role model for any young, up and coming leader in today's society.

Then there is their mother. A gorgeous, creative, smart and goal-driven woman who knows what she wants and gets after it. She also knows the strengths of others (even when they don't see it in themselves) and helps them achieve their own goals. I'm telling ya, these girls have fantastic parents to look up to. I wouldn't be surprised to see these girls succeed in whatever they put their minds too. I mean face it, their mom and dad have pretty much did any and everything while finally figuring out what they wanted to contribute to today's society. (though, I'm pretty sure once they succeed or tire of that, they'll move onto another challenge! I just know it)

But when I found out they too were moving to El Paso the same time frame as I was, I was completely over the moon. Not only would I know at least ONE other family here in El Paso, I would be able to see these girls grow up! (and the fact that I get to photograph them again, I mean BONUS!)

I mean come on?! Look at them! They literally just had to LOOK at my camera and make my photographer heart swoon! They (and their momma) definitely took my simple theme and WORKED IT!

The two above pictures make me giggle. Why? Because they are each wearing something they didn't want to but the crazy photographer wanted to just "try it out and see how it goes." LOL The eldest looked at me strange when I tied the scarf around her head. <3 Uh, but look how good she looks?! Then the littlest did NOT want to wear the tassel necklace ... LOL ... like nope. haha! But she looks fantastic and rocked it!

I made the "dreamcatchers" that hung in the bushes behind them as well as the flower crowns and the leather headband. I brought the vests (minus the fur one), everything else was their momma's eye and the help of their own style. I mean, I couldn't have dreamt this session going any better! <3

Above we tried the whole "wind blown look." But of course when we tried it, the wind was no where to be found! haha! So little sister held out the scarf for big sister and viola!

One request momma did have was to get some sisterly images for her. And I hope I did just that. These two may bicker with one another like all siblings do but the love they share for one another shows in each of their sister portraits! <3 Thank you for being creative with me!

Cross Stitch loom, thread, ribbon, feathers, leather
Wire, fake flowers and garnish, glue gun, leather

Thanks to momma for taking some behind the scenes images that were flattering to me too! ;)

Holi-Wisteria | Concept Model | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

With all the wisteria growing around town, I KNEW I had to get pictures with it. And then I noticed that one of my favorite models had bluish/purplish hair and was like "WHAT?!" This has GOT to go down!

Isn't Joy gorgeous?! Her makeup was done by makeup artist, Khalilah Frederick, owner of

These live flowers were bought at Walmart ... can you believe that?! They were perfect!

I want to share something with you ... this location, it's not this pretty with the naked eye ... I know. Are you surprised?? I wanna show you a pulled back image of the location. It was a little field off of the side of the road, and not in a very .... pretty ... neighborhood. Probably not a place I'd take a client with small children to, but man, you guys. That's why I love saying that hiring a professional photographer is the best bet. Not just because we're "starving artists" but because we know what we are doing! LOL!

Guys, even the model's mom was like ... uh, there's better looking fields of wisteria near us ... LOL But look y'all, we got amazing pictures and the light was perfect!

Then of course, I had to really get to what I really wanted in my concept, and that was to add holi powder to my model to give it a more edgy feel. Pretty is good and all, but when it's a concept shoot, it's something more out of my comfort zone and I wanted to push myself.

Even though at the beginning I couldn't get the purple powder to look the way I wanted ... it wouldn't stick to Joy, like not even in the slightest! LOL So my photographer friends pitched in to come up with a solution, which was put water on her face and then fling powder at her. LOL

It wasn't the look I was going for and I was really quite disappointed when I left the shoot thinking I had failed. But then I got on the computer and started looking through the images and I was shockingly surprised. Even though I didn't keep much from the holi powder section, I was super excited about the ones I did keep! This is why I will forever thank a photojournalist that once told me never to delete images from the back of the camera until you see them on the computer first. <3

Thank you to Joy for getting dirty with us and sticking in there while we figured out how to make my vision come to life! ;)
