Lensbaby Carnations | Concept | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

I asked a friend of mine who has fabulous curly hair to model for me a concept I had playing around in my head. "Floating carnations" LOL yeah sounds odd I know but look how gorgeous these images came out?!

Considering the frost in the air, she made it believable that Spring is coming soon ... well... It snowed a few days later ... LOL but these images sure looking springy enough for me!

I also tried out my new Lensbaby Composer that I bought at Imaging USA (I also used my 50mm for some of the shots too). Lensbaby lenses are a tad tricky to get in focus as well as getting the desired blurred bokeh. I need to shoot with it more but I'm pretty much digging what I got outta this shoot!

I mean ... come on?! Look at that sun flare! I had to have the 50mm on the camera for all that glare. I couldn't get in focus using the Composer, lol!

Just simply gorgeous! Thank you for modeling for me and putting up with the cold! You're a sweetheart and I absolutely love this below image of you! Shows the really you! <3

And this is the behind the scenes shot! haha! The carnations were tied to a metal flag pole and we hung up the pole on top of the model. I just sewed fishing wire through the carnation buds and viola!

Tennessee Beauty | Senior | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

Recent went to Tennessee for Imaging USA ... a photography conference with four other photographers from around this local area. While there, one photographer was able to set up a photoshoot with us and four other models. It was SOOOO cold outside (where we initially started, you'll see those images soon), when this lovely lady's momma suggested a really cool place in the historic area of Nashville. We were in HEAVEN. Not only is Mikaela gorgeous and a natural in front of the camera, but this location was like ridiculous! So many fun antiques and wonderful light! I was like a kid in a candy store.

She had this wonderful suitcase and the location had these awesome train station booths ... of course we had to do a little set up of a music lover waiting to catch the 'midnight train!' ;)

And then .... AND THEN ... there was this amazing corner with old school video games! I mean, COME ON! How awesome is this?!

Gorgeous window light and a gorgeous model with fun western pinball ... I mean can it get any better?

Thank you Mikaela for being a fantastic sport and rolling with the punches of the day! You are a beautiful young woman inside and out! You are going to go places in your career and I cannot wait to see where your future leads!!

Homerun Engagement | Couple | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

Okay story behind these two ... the last few weddings I've photographed, they've been there. No, not as the bride and groom, but as guests! They are a riot to hang around and keep me laughing all the time. Last time I saw them, before they asked me to be their wedding photographer ... I was at one of their mutual friend's wedding photographing and he caught the garter and she caught the bouquet. (that should've been a hint to know what was going to happen next!)

Well these two love birds are getting married this year and I couldn't be more thrilled to be their engagement photographer AND their wedding photographer. It's going to be a beautiful and fun wedding ... I can already tell because these two are so in love and they have the best secret to a fulfilling marriage ... laughter.

Congratulations you two and I cannot wait to be there this fall!

Library Historian | Concept | Lillington, N.C. Photographer

Oh Morgan. The point of this part 2 of the history of a school was to make you look creepy ... LOL. Because of your sweet demeanor, you just can't look creepy! haha! But you did rock this location! (before we were kicked out!) ;)

The above pictures show you how dangerous the school really could be for someone not paying attention. That whole corner of the library was caving in and deteriorating. LOL this was right before we got kicked out of the place. Mind you, there are no "no trespassing" sign out on the property, but it is owned by a local association who was kind enough to give us 20 more minutes to shoot inside and then allowed us to shoot for another hour outside.

See? even in a matte black and white, I couldn't get Morgan to look creepy. However, she does look amazing. Those eyes though! Love them!

These couple of shots I was going for a dark, older feel. You know back in the day the people in the pictures are just standing in front of the camera expressionless? Giving "the eye" to the camera. Morgan gave me the eye all right. haha! I think she was getting irritated 'cause I'd be like ... "meh ... somethings missing... uh try this...try that ... haha!" It's all in good fun Morgan! You rock!

And of course, out of the dark and dreary, I HAD to get a few shots of her in the sun with my back lighting! Just perfect! Thank you for being such a trooper Morgan!
