Sweet Reunion | Military Homecoming | Fort Bliss, TX Photographer

Momma contacted me months in advance to ensure she was able to catch (fingers crossed) the last deployment her family has to go through ever again. She explained that they've been lucky and haven't had to endure very many deployments and three of the children have never, until this moment, had to experience "dad being gone."

The eldest daughter was very young while he was gone on another deployment. Momma is very thankful for not having to deal with many stressful single parenting deployments and she was extremely happy to have the day finally come where she could sigh a BIG sigh of relief with him back home.

The moment momma points out dad in the sea of uniforms <3

Daddy's girls. I love when I photograph children being reunited with their parents because they just STARE at them in awe. It truly is the best sight to see. They've waited so long that the reunion doesn't see real. And if they take their eyes of their parent, he/she will disappear. I mean, it's magical the sparkle of awe in their eyes.

Mother-in-laws are the best too. This gramma doesn't speak much English but she was at her daughter side many days to help out in whatever way she could. I mean, the family is duo-language, but El Paso is mainly Spanish ... not German. ;) So coming to a place that isn't your native language and emerge yourself into a culture that really is TWO cultures ... American and Mexican ... She's my hero. Mommas are the best aren't they??

Welcome home Soldier!

Young Reunion | Military Homecoming | Fort Bliss, TX Photographer

She booked me months out. She wanted to ensure I would be there to capture this awesome moment of return. She had so much faith in me, it sorta intimidated me! LOL But I will forever love her for that! She pushed my creativity to a max and for that, I'm forever grateful.

Her time kept getting pushed back and I was getting nervous because the sun was quickly going behind the mountains. But what a sight to see when the plane's door opened and soldiers began to pile out.
She originally had told his parents that she needed help moving the house .. little did they know that they'd be in El Paso the day their baby was coming home! How fun is that?!

She spotted him in the formation and that smile never left her lips .... until she was in his arms again.

Welcome home Soldier! Below is their video! You can ALWAYS add a video to any session for just $65 more! Ask me about it today!

Sweet Return | Military Homecoming | Fort Bliss, TX Photographer

Can  I just take a second to say this family was absolutely the sweetest. It's so funny how fast you become friends with homecoming clients. Homecomings are so emotionally charged, even if you've met the client/photographer face-to-face, we communicate so much prior to the actual date (with multiple changes to day and time ALWAYS), that we practically have known each other for YEARS when we finally meet in person! LOL

Even the Soldier's mom and dad made it out from NC to visit AND welcome him home! <3

This little man was such a trooper. With time changes throughout the day, he was ready for daddy's return (even if he wasn't exactly sure why momma kept applying makeup and lipstick). ;)

When his plane landed his Dad said, "Can you believe it? He's finally home." He was so excited and proud and filled with overwhelming joy.

When the guys finally started coming off the plane, the crowd was hushed trying to find their soldier in the line of camouflage.

Then Dad saw him and waved. He turned around and exclaimed, "I can't believe I just spotted him!" High fives galore ...

And then the emotions came. Her love and their baby was home safe and sound.

Little man was getting hangry outside, but once mom and him came inside to feed ... he was all smiles and ready to see daddy!!

Then they were finally announced and marched in. The crowd went crazy

He is finally home! <3

Little man was sooo happy! (as well as wife, mom, and dad!) Welcome home Soldier!

Last Deployment | Military Homecoming | Fort Bliss, TX Photographer

I was so happy when she contacted me for a last minute homecoming. Her original photographer had to cancel and she was is a slight panic trying to find someone. I, of course, was jumped at the opportunity to do my first military homecoming here at Fort Bliss.

She isn't from here either, so she wasn't too much in the loop of location or what not. Me, being new here and never doing a homecoming here, starting asking around trying to find this place that she was eventually told to go to. The problem? The name she was given isn't what everyone on post calls it! LOL Yeah, I was panicking! How was I to find a location if know one knew of the location!

Long story short, I was 99.9% sure of the location once asking my husband to ask around and asking a fellow photographer here who was also meeting her husband the same day. I waited for my client to meet me at the gate but I got a phone call saying she was here ... but she wasn't! LOL She too had no clue how to get around post, luckily, I did know where she was and I rushed to get her. After the giggles and shaking of our heads, we made it to the location with plenty of time to spare!

As we waited, she told me this was going to be their last deployment and I couldn't be any happier for them! No more being separated from each other. They have only been together for a few months or so of their marriage. So needless to say, she was happy to have this finally welcome home ceremony photographed!

Sigh, the sweet sweet feeling of having him in your arms again. Isn't it just one of the best feelings in the world? I love the feeling and I love photographing that first hug and kiss! <3

I think the below picture is where she said something to affect, "I hired a photographer, she's-" And he interrupted, "The one with the camera?" ;) LOL I love it.

I'm am so happy to have the first homecoming session here at Bliss under my belt. I cannot wait to do more! The lighting in this building is much better than Fort Bragg! haha! ;)
