Tee Up | Senior | El Paso, TX Photographer

Was super excited when this senior's momma mentioned that he was a golfer and wanted to incorporate his sport into his senior portraits. We got the okay to photograph at Underwood Golf Course and I'm so glad we did! Such a pretty landscape ... and of course, the greens are phenomenal.

They even let us borrow a gold cart! How fun right?!

And when momma says she wants a pic with her baby, we take a portrait with her baby!

Sand & Sun Senior | Senior | New Mexico Photographer

Remember this gorgeous Senior from THIS post? In that post, I talked about her mom wanting a green backdrop and that they loved the beach. They're from NC - just like me! So, I was feeling what they were feeling. Even though the desert is gorgeous, sometimes you just miss "home's" scenery! Well, for the green, we went to the El Paso Rose Garden. For the beach sand feel? White Sands National Park of course! <3

Uh - I mea, HELLO?! How freaking amazing is this scenery?! She's stunning to begin with and then add the setting sun, her dresses, her personality .... gah! I was in heaven!

There weren't very many clouds in the sky when we were out there ... so the sky just glowed! As the sun was behind the mountains, the tiny clouds that did exist just made a beautiful backdrop for us!

She saw the behind the camera images of these and she exclaimed, "I look so grown!" Momma agreed. I hope that's a good thing ... I mean I know 16/17 isn't "grown" per say, but this young woman will definitely go places with her glowing character!

Book your El Paso Senior Session today! I also travel! ;)

Senior Rose | Senior | El Paso, TX Photographer

This senior's momma contacted me a few weeks back wanting to book senior pictures. They recently moved to El Paso as well ... from -get this- Fayetteville, NC too! Mom expressed that they should have gotten senior pics before moving because they are in love with the beach AND they love the greenery NC boosts.

Well, we are in the desert now. LOL There isn't much greenery or like, BEACH sand around. BUT I had happened across the city's Rose Garden and showed her pictures and she loved them. (we will get to the "sand" portion in another blog)

I mean how gorgeous is she?! That dress, hair, makeup ... <3 simply gorgeous.

Not only is she gorgeous on the outside, this senior has such  a soulful heart and great personality! She and I were giggling the whole session and her true personality came forward. She is super easy to photograph and along with her fun-loving aura around her ... it was magic!

All Boy Grown Up | Senior | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

When this young man's mother contacted me for senior portraits and then said that he was looking
for a rural location to fit his outdoorsy personality AND he wanted to incorporate his truck in the  pictures ... I of course JUMPED at the opportunity!

And boy am I glad! He did an awesome job and he put up with me taking him into the woods and trying out different poses with him. All the while his momma was in the background making us both laugh. I love that he wanted to appease his mom with the pictures. I could tell he wasn't feeling the pictures right from the get go, but he eventually realized that this was HIS show. He ran it! :) And he did fantastic. I can only hope that one day my two boys will appreciate and look up to me like he does his momma.

And of course, when it came to the truck ... he was ready. He is super proud of his truck. He's done a lot of work to it and PUT a lot of sweat into making it his own. And I know he has a blast riding it around!

Thank you guys for putting up with me and helping me find the light .... backing in, pulling up, angling and whatever else I made you do with your truck! LOL I had a blast and we came out with fantastic images!

May the Force be with You | Model | Fayetteville NC Photographer

So ... For this session. My battery was dead. Yeah. Like what?! How does that happen? Well, mommy brain happened. I rushed out for the model concept shoot with fellow photog friends and when we finally got moving and shooting ... my camera wouldn't turn on. To make things worse, I left the camera bag in the car five blocks down. So needless to say, I was just going to be the cheerleader for the shoot.

But Will (Darkroom Portraits) lemme borrow his Sony camera to shoot. LOL So yay! I got to shoot and I forced him to go back to his roots and shoot film only! ;)

Anyone else's family super stoked about December's opening for the new Star Wars movie? My son, who's eight mind you, wants to go opening day! WHAT the WHAT?! LOL I explained to him that Star Wars is a phenomenon that many adults are crazy about and to be mixed up in that crowd would be chaos and probably a little creepy. (I'm just thinking of all the 44 year old men who still live with mom and are dressed as Obi Won or Luke sleeping in tents till the doors open and have every single memorabilia with them just in the off chance that Harrison Ford stops by our sleepy little town's movie theater ...) <---- too much? LOL It made me giggle.

Either way, we are excited and will be hitting it up in theaters ... just not sure WHEN. LOL

Check out Aoife HERE -- this was after she had her baby! Safe to say, momma got her groove back!

Empty Nest Session | Senior | Dunn, NC Photographer

This family. I mean, THIS family. They are the greatest! I've worked with the daughter for engagement photographs and will be doing her wedding, but when her momma called asking about senior portraits of her brother ... then for her daughter ... then together ... then with brother's girlfriend, I was a tad overwhelmed. But then she said, "On our farm?"

I wish I could show you a video of my giddy "yes dance." But alas, I cannot. What I can tell you though is I was absolutely ALL OVER this session! Not only did he graduate high school and was leaving for college, she graduated her nursing degree and is in the process of moving out to start a new life with her fiancé (as of right now) all around the same time. So, momma wanted to get the pictures of them done before she was left with a quiet house ... something she isn't accustom to. After all she had children running around for 23/24 (?) years or so???

I drove the hour out of town to their farm where they have crops as well as turkeys! When I got there, they welcomed me right into the family and brother and I jumped into the gator to explore around the farm while momma and sister finished getting outfits and such ready. There were silos, turkey coops, a pond, open grassy fields ... I was in heaven. They asked me where I'd like to shoot. I said, "EVERY WHERE!"

Even the dog's joined in on some pictures and of course we had to get his truck into the picture! But there were some pictures that I HAD to get according to momma. Since they are farmers, she wanted to get some pictures with his old, childhood toy tractors she had kept.

Then we moved on to his REAL tractors! ;) How awesome right?!

After a few shots with pop on the tractors as well, we headed down to the turkey coop. So... I'm not a turkey farmer, nor do I know anything about raising turkeys. But I did learn that if you get to close, they all try to say hi to you and then they end up stampeding each other! What?! lol I had no clue. And the turkey was going to be our state bird?! Well, either way, we kept our distance and got the coops in the background. The below picture is definitely my favorite.

And of course we added his girlfriend in a few shots as she was a big help with wardrobe choices and moral support! They were just too cute!

Another must I needed to get for momma was a pic of brother and sister holding hands walking away with their cap and gown - symbolizing the new chapter in life they were embarking in. And why not?! How cute are they??? I love when siblings are close and you can see the love they have for each other!

2016 seniors ... haven't booked your senior pics yet?? You totally should! I offer great sessions that are obviously catered to you and your hobbies! Lets make a date and chitchat with your parents and get this party on the road! Book me today!

Here's a fun pic just to show why customized photography is the best! I don't just "shoot and burn" as some photographers say. I don't just photograph you, put pics on CD and give to you. What you pay for is Me and my Talent in camera and off. I make sure we get what you want outta your session. And then I spend time in photoshop making your image even better - like getting rid of those pesky fly-a-ways. ;)
