Sweet Reunion | Military Homecoming | Fort Bliss, TX Photographer

Momma contacted me months in advance to ensure she was able to catch (fingers crossed) the last deployment her family has to go through ever again. She explained that they've been lucky and haven't had to endure very many deployments and three of the children have never, until this moment, had to experience "dad being gone."

The eldest daughter was very young while he was gone on another deployment. Momma is very thankful for not having to deal with many stressful single parenting deployments and she was extremely happy to have the day finally come where she could sigh a BIG sigh of relief with him back home.

The moment momma points out dad in the sea of uniforms <3

Daddy's girls. I love when I photograph children being reunited with their parents because they just STARE at them in awe. It truly is the best sight to see. They've waited so long that the reunion doesn't see real. And if they take their eyes of their parent, he/she will disappear. I mean, it's magical the sparkle of awe in their eyes.

Mother-in-laws are the best too. This gramma doesn't speak much English but she was at her daughter side many days to help out in whatever way she could. I mean, the family is duo-language, but El Paso is mainly Spanish ... not German. ;) So coming to a place that isn't your native language and emerge yourself into a culture that really is TWO cultures ... American and Mexican ... She's my hero. Mommas are the best aren't they??

Welcome home Soldier!

Tee Up | Senior | El Paso, TX Photographer

Was super excited when this senior's momma mentioned that he was a golfer and wanted to incorporate his sport into his senior portraits. We got the okay to photograph at Underwood Golf Course and I'm so glad we did! Such a pretty landscape ... and of course, the greens are phenomenal.

They even let us borrow a gold cart! How fun right?!

And when momma says she wants a pic with her baby, we take a portrait with her baby!

Bring on 2017! | El Paso, TX Photographer

As 2016 is coming to a quick end, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of my wonderful clients and models for choosing me as your photographer. Y'all are so awesome and it means the world to me that out of the many photographers around the area, you chose me.

I had only two homecomings this year, but each was super special - a little girl got to welcome her daddy and a wife got to welcome her hubby back from the last military homecoming of his career.  I helped two families announce their pregnancies and photographed two beautiful Southern Charm weddings. I had a one year old's cake smash with her puppy and a first spaghetti smash!  Three seniors chose me as their photographer and seven families picked me to photograph their going families. Two couples smooched in front of my camera for redeployment pics and engagement pics. Nine models graced my camera's lens helping me get super creative and I thank you for that! Not to mention the countless pups and kitties that I photographed from the shelters and Old Glory's tour through El Paso.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and even with the mid-year move, y'all supported me so much. It's more than I could ever ask for. I'm incredibly lucky and I CANNOT wait to see what 2017 has in store for Sharilyn Wells Photography! Happy New Year!

Familiar Faces +1 | Family | El Paso, TX Photographer

When I got the Instagram message from this momma asking about a photo session, I got a tad sad. Why? Because she was a client in North Carolina and I figured she hadn't gotten the message that I moved ... But NOPE! They live about an hour from El Paso and she wanted to travel TOO me! What?! I was so excited to hear this and couldn't wait to see the (then family of three) family of four! Since I photographed them last, the little boy was just barely one year old!

And now look at him! Not only is he taller, but he's a big brother now!

I am so lucky to have such loyal clients that will find me over the years of them moving and the move I made as well as driving an hour to have their pictures taken! This family is so sweet and so happy to hear how well they're doing. I hope to see them again real soon!

When it Rains in the Desert | Family | El Paso, TX Photographer

Let me tell you about this family ... We planned for this day for a while. She needed updated family photos for her holiday cards. We planned out location after some deliberation, a date, and time. All was ready to go ... then the weather forecast came out.

Rain. Yes, you read that right. Rain. In the desert. We decided to hang onto hope that it's the desert ... it doesn't rain in the desert!

Well ... it was looking good. Then we both pulled up to the park. Sprinkles. Yeah ... perfect timing right? We could also hear the rumbling of thunder in the background. We continued to photograph because ... the desert threatens rain a lot!

Can you tell it's sprinkling? I can't either! haha! These kids were champs! They hung in there and look at how stinking cute they are?!

This is the last shot I got when the clouds opened up ... I mean, not like North Carolina rain ... but it was messing up hair and my camera could have been damaged ... LOL. But wow! What troopers!

Come to find out ... this was a massive storm wave that hit the city. Some parts got hail ... like so much that it looked like snow on the ground! We were at a tornado warning and lightening was pretty bad. Did I see any of this? nope. LOL Not one single piece of hail hit us or our cars luckily! Like people got massive damage to their vehicles! I must have outran it on the way home and she didn't see anything either. It was crazy! We finished just in the nick of time.

First session of my holiday minis complete! Still have room to book more! Book today!

Sugar & Spice | Maternity | El Paso, TX Photographer

This family is gaining another member and they couldn't be any happier! They're getting a little girl to love! Big brother is super excited and momma is loving the idea of adding pink to the family!

Isn't Momma's dress stunning?! I mean, she was already glowing with love and beauty, but add this dress and wow! Momma is stunning!

I love capturing the couple who is expecting a bundle of joy because you cans the love that they share with one another and it's simply amazing. They both glow ... and I couldn't have asked for a more good-looking family!

Any day now this little girl will be out in the world and I cannot WAIT to meet her! Congratulations you three and enjoy every little moment of this pregnancy and birth!

Here's a little before and after I did for the family. I have boys - so I have "boy colored" blocks ... and the dogs got ahold of a few - so they're chewed up. LOL BUT momma wanted to see something about spelling out the baby girl's name and I HAD to try! ;) What do y'all think?
