Clover 1 Year Birthday | Mini Special | Fayetteville, NC Photographer

Y'all, I've been wanting to do clover sessions for the longest time and I finally decided to do them this year since I'll be moving to the desert this summer. The first person to book was a momma of the little boy that was born on St. Patrick's Day and I was there for his FIRST 48 images in the hospital.

When his momma said she wanted to do a "spaghetti smash" for his first birthday instead of a cake smash ... I was ALLLLLLL for it! Especially for this Italian/Irish baby boy!

Of course, we had to get a few clean shots of him and his brother. Check out all that clover! Folks, man, if you haven't booked a clover session yet... you NEED to! this location is freaking amazing!

It doesn't have to be St. Patrick or Irish themed ... let's just book a session in the clovers! I <3 them if you can't tell! I'm an Irish girl at heart and love the clover more than I love a tulip ... and I love tulips!

But more about this spaghetti smash! Shirtless and decked in a plaid bowtie ... he went to town in that spaghetti! <3 He was sooooo cute. I got WAY too many images to narrow down for mom and dad to choose from but he was amazing. He was enjoying his food, then he'd let out a little whine, and then eat some more. Man, he loves him some spaghetti!

The mess afterwards was priceless! A successful first for me, a spaghetti smash perfection!

Saint Patrick's Day Baby | First 48 | Fort Bragg, NC Photographer

Okay, so this blog is WAY over due, but it's up here now! lol Baby "P" was born on Saint Patirck's Day. How awesome is that? I'm Irish, my mom's b-day is the 17th of March, I love clovers, and this family is Irish! How perfect is this?!

This awesome family weren't my clients in the beginning. You see, when you're a part of a fantastic community of photographers, we help each other out. My friend had a "Fresh 48" scheduled with them. Well, so happens there was a hiccup and baby came early and my friend was still outta town. SHARI TO THE RESCUE! No, I mean, it wasn't that dramatic. But I did leap at the opportunity to do my version, FIRST 48 with them! And so glad my friend called me. This family was awesome.

In many ways, they reminded me of my second child and how brother (even though much older than theirs) reacted to baby brother. How mom and dad handled a little meltdown. How big brother was more interested in gadgets around the hospital room. I mean. It was perfect.

Big brother also got a fantastic present after meeting his little brother... a Transformer!!! He was super excited to play with it ... I mean, baby brother is fun and all, but all he does is sleep. ;)

First 48's are super awesome and are treated sorta like military homecomings because they're unpredictable. I mean, this session was a perfect example for that. An early date and another photographer's clients became mine! LOL

When I saw the clover outfit ... I KNEW we had to get that precious little bundle of joy in that outfit! I mean come on! How cute is he?!?!

I do birth photography and First 48 sessions. It's all up to you.

Birth Photography - Starts at $525- Includes me being on call for the birth up to 2 weeks before due date and 2 weeks after, coverage of the entire birthing process, a slide show put to music, and 20 - 30 edited portraits on a CD/thumbdrive and an online gallery for viewing/ordering for 14 days. If outside the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg area a travel fee will be added to the session fee. Albums and other products can be added to package. The First 48 - This session can be added to your birth package ($85 extra) or can be bought alone ($155). This includes me coming to the hospital or your home to capture the first moments of baby's life. It can be of you guys in the hospital meeting family, learning to nurse, cuddling with baby, meeting family; it can be taking baby home, meeting the pets, showing off the nursery, special moments between siblings; or it can be a relaxed family shoot in your home as you all adjust to the first 48 hours of baby's life. Includes up to an hour in front of camera, 20 - 30 edited portraits for online viewing/ordering for 14 days. If outside the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg area a travel fee will be added to the session fee. These pictures can be added to album and other products that are bought with birth session.
If your interested in booking any of these sessions, please call or email and let's set up a time to meet and chat! Birth photography is such a personal session that we need to make sure we are a good match and that we are comfortable with each other. Same for First 48 sessions. Even though this session was spur of the moment, I would like to get to know you prior to walking in at the hospital or your home. I want to know if the nursery is made up yet. I want to know names if you've picked them. If you're adding your pets, I want to meet them! You know, I wanna treat you to your favorite drink at a coffee shop and sit and gossip like two old friends! True Southern Style!

'Holden' onto Love | Lifestyle Newborn | Fort Bragg, N.C. Photographer

I had the absolute pleasure of being invited into this lovely family's home and baby nursery to photograph their newborn son. What a precious little boy he is!! He fought us in the beginning, but once momma fed him and swaddled him up, he gave me this AWESOME image (literally the last image I took while visiting with the family!)! I cannot wait to see this hanging in their home! ;-)

He got rather bored with me and very animatedly show me so. ;-) But Big Brother came in to help feed little brother. He is a fantastic big brother, of course he's had some practice as he's already a big brother to his sister!

Look at those eyes!! He was wide awake the whole session! Lol

Lifestyle newborn images are different in regular newborn portraits as I actually come into your home and photograph baby and family in their natural setting, doing natural things, creating beautiful works of art for your home!

So not only am I photographing baby, I'm photographing interaction. I'm capturing the moment, the memory and letting you remember it for many years after baby is grown an having a family of his own.

I also take the time to showcase any other hobbies, interests, or sibling fun. Because it IS lifestyle, it's about the family as a whole and how y'all love each other and how your lives grow together in a bond that can't be broken.

And yes, I'll capture moments like this. ;-) Big brother was so proud of this image ... I HAD to share.

Then of course, if you want traditional family poses, of course we can fit that in too!

Don't forget about mom and dad! Look how cute they are! ;-)

I'll also include extended family if they are in town and wish to do so! Gramma and her grand babies!

For more info on lifestyled newborn sessions, please visit HERE (same price as the First 48 sessions) and feel free to email for further questions or comments! ;-) *** Please remember that all images are copyrighted to Sharilyn Wells Photography, LLC. Welcome lil' one | Birth Photography | Sanford, N.C. Photographer

How lucky was I to have been given the opportunity to photograph this family's HUGE event! Referred to by another birth photographer, I agreed to be on standby while she was out of town. Momma said that she was pretty dilated and was expecting to give birth about two weeks prior to due date. Knowing I still had two weeks and wasn't really expecting to take over the other photographer's birth … I agreed. Because, see, that's what we photogs do. We look out for each other. We help each other out. But to my surprise, I got a text in the evening after feeding and bathing my boys saying, "We are heading to hospital."

How do you keep kids busy throughout the night? ;-)

Baby boy spending his last night as the youngest child snuggling up to momma. Gah! Melts my heart!

I half expected them to be sent back home as they did the day prior. But an hour later, "I'm being submitted now. Baby is coming tonight!" I jumped to my feet, got the boys ready for the babysitter, dropped them off, and headed to hospital in Sanford (about a 45 minute drive). I was SO nervous I was going to miss this baby as I had missed my last birth by 6 minutes!

BUT, I got there in time … actually I got there in LOTS of time! :-) Baby girl was ready to come out … but not just yet. She was going to make an entrance … on her time. :-)

The night came and went and still no baby. Then, momma said … I'm ready to push. And papa was prepped to catch his baby daughter. Let me tell you, one of the coolest things ever to watch! I mean, he was able to deliver his baby girl! <3

Did I mention that momma's whole family was there?! her hubby, her children (three), her momma, her sister, her niece, her nephew  … oh man, the room was full of love. And you know what? I felt every inch of it because for that night and early morning, I was part of their family. I laughed with them, I dozed off with them, I cried with them, I photographed them. This family is truly special and I thank them for taking me in their arms that night. :-)

Welcome to the world lil' one!

As momma was beginning to nurse her newborn, the docs gave a biology class to the family. ;-) Showed them the placenta and explained all the parts. The kids were just amazed.

All ten toes and being shown to cousin and big brother! :-)
